Rogue was born July 25, 2009, out of Lyra (from the Bad Warrior lines) and sired by Rhys. Rogue is a very beautiful gray filly, with a lot of energy, presence, and strong desire to interact with humans as often as she can. Rogue is very much her mother's daughter. She absolutely adores humans, has from the moment of her birth, Rogue is extremely easy to work with. Rogue is also very energetic and loves to run and leap, she is an absolute delight to watch doing laps out in the field, throwing a graceful leap into the air every now and again, as she agilely sprints, darts, spins, and dances across the Earth. We are very lucky to have this special girl join our herd and are looking very forward to her future here.
Rain Dancer Aurora, aka Rora, was born
August 10, 2009, she heralded a much needed rain storm. Rora is out of our lovely mare Epona and sired by Rhys. Rora is almost a carbon copy of her mother. She is a palomino pinto, with lush curls, and extravagant movement. Long, fluid, ground covering strides, with spectacular shows of airs above the ground. We feel blessed to have this filly join our herd and are very excited for her future here at Skygazer Ranch.
Ravyn was born August 25, 2009, out of our Hungarian Warmblood mare, Tiska and sired by our Curly stallion, Rhys. Ravyn is everything we had hoped for from this cross. She is a bright bay, like her sire, has size and athleticism like her mother, she is uphill, forward, energetic, and a dream to watch in motion. Ravyn performs spectacular airs above the ground, has fluid, graceful, ground covering, powerful strides. Ravyn is also very social, like all of our Curly foals this year. She is minimally curly, showing only a tiny amount of curl at the base of her ears in the winter, her coat is bunny fur soft though. Ravyn is a delight to have here at Skygazer Ranch, we feel incredibly lucky to have her!
Riot was born August 30, 2009, a little earlier than we'd anticipated, and just following a lot of rain. He is out of Star and sired by Rhys. He's Xandra's half brother, their relation is clear when you look in his face or pay attention to how hard he tries to please the people in his life. It appears that, like Xandra, he is an extreme curly. He is also going to be pony sized, as both of his parents are about 13.2 - 13.3, he is
noticeably smaller than any of the other foals born this summer. Not sure if he will finish shedding out his foal coat to a black or seal bay color, time will tell. He is lovely though, even having curls on his face. Riot is an adorable treasure, we appreciate watching follow his buddy Sandor about all day, dashing off across the field and otherwise being "the class clown". Riot is very intelligent, giving, and we are thrilled to have this little guy join our herd here at Skygazer Ranch, we're really looking forward to his future!
